The mission of Pi Gamma Mu is to encourage and promote excellence in the social sciences and to uphold the ideals of scholarship and service.

TRIENNIAL BUSINESS REPORT

Membership

During the last triennium, Pi Gamma Mu inducted 9,946 new members.  This brings the total membership to 268,865 lifetime members as of August 31, 2017.  A total of 190 chapters initiated members in the past three years.

The following financial reports are submitted to the chapters to fulfill a requirement of the Pi Gamma Mu Constitution. This information was presented at the 2017 Triennial International Convention in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.

Direct services to members include initiates' key pins, membership certificates, wallet cards, and the Pi Gamma Mu Newsletter.  Headquarters expenses include staff salaries, insurance, printing, and all the costs required for operating an international society.  Meetings cover the costs of the Triennial Convention, annual board meetings, regional meetings, committee meetings, as well as expenditures incurred by officers when they represent the society.  All trustees and governors volunteer their time and expertise, but they are reimbursed for costs when they travel for Pi Gamma Mu.
