Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences is pleased to present a new Speaker Series.  The series is open to both members of Pi Gamma Mu and to non-members interested in learning more about the topics being presented.  Beginning this fall, the Series will be offered via Zoom to spotlight the research interests and expertise of Pi Gamma Mu's chapter sponsors.

2024 TRIENNIAL INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION

The Pi Gamma Mu Convention Committee is thrilled to announce that the 2024 Pi Gamma Mu Triennial International Convention will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, through Sunday, November 3, 2024, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Plan to join us in the City of Brotherly Love in 2024 to be a part of Pi Gamma Mu's centennial celebration!

CALL FOR CHAPTER HISTORIES

In preparation for Pi Gamma Mu's centennial celebration in 2024, we are updating the history of the Society. The last history update was completed in celebration of Pi Gamma Mu's first 75 years and the time has come for another update with our 100th anniversary rapidly approaching. In this vein, we are asking chapters to explore and record their histories and send the information to our office.

ALUMNI MEMBERS – SEND US YOUR UPDATES

The Pi Gamma Mu Alumni Corner was created by the Pi Gamma Mu Alumni Council so that Alumni could stay in touch with their updates, career activities, and key events in their lives. The Alumni Council would love to include your update in a future issue of the Pi Gamma Mu Newsletter.

The Pi Gamma Mu Board of Trustees and staff wish to thank and congratulate the 2021-2022 Top 10 Chapters by Membership. It is the collection of the lifetime membership fees from new members that sustains Pi Gamma Mu and its programs.

The Pi Gamma Mu Board of Trustees and staff wish to congratulate and thank the 2021-2022  Star Chapters for their dedication and success in increasing their chapter’s number of new initiates by 20% or more as compared to the 2020-2021 academic year.

We are just getting started with our new channel on YouTube and we are off to an amazing start!  So far, the channel features speeches made for the 2021 Pi Gamma Mu Triennial International Convention by the following Pi Gamma Mu lifetime members: United States Senator Chuck Grassley (of Iowa), United States Congresswoman Diana DeGette (of Colorado), and Dr. Judith Rodin, philanthropist and leader in higher education.

ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGE HONOR SOCIETIES

Pi Gamma Mu is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS), which is the authority on standards and definitions for the honor society movement. ACHS has stepped up efforts to alert the higher education community to the standards of traditional honor societies. In contrast, some new so-called honor societies exist only online and allow self-nomination, accepting fees with no questions asked. If in doubt about an organization, you can check out the ACHS website (www.achshonor.org) for the list of honor societies that are members.

CHANGE OF EMAIL ADDRESS

Pi Gamma Mu communicates with its lifetime members via email. Anytime your email address changes, such as after graduation or when you change jobs, please notify the Pi Gamma Mu office immediately. This will prevent your emails from being interrupted or discontinued. Simply email your new email address to [email protected] or go to our Web site (pigammamu.org) to change your address information. We will need both your old email address and your new email address to update our records. Thank you very much for taking a few minutes to keep your information current.
