Grambling State University

Bryson J. Bradford (pictured) and Avana Thompson, members of the Louisiana Eta Chapter at Gramling State University, recently presented their research during the online 2021 Pi Gamma Mu Triennial International Convention – Social Scientists Leading the Way.  The pair presented their paper entitled, “Exploring Race, Gender, Marital Status, and Longevity”.  Their co-authors are: Jordan Hall and Jada Starks.  Other contributors include: Amaya Wright, Jalen Spencer, Briana Urena, Natalie Washington, and Lauren Williams.

The group’s past and present faculty mentors are Dr. Frances Staten of Grambling State University and Dr. John Nwoha of Louisiana Tech University.  Following graduation, Bradford sent a message to Dr. Staten thanking her for her mentorship and for inviting and encouraging him to join Pi Gamma Mu.  He reported that presenting at a Pi Gamma Mu convention was a rewarding experience.  Branson is picture below celebrating his graduation from Grambling State University in 2021.
