On Saturday, May 2, the Florida Lambda Chapter at Saint Leo University (Virginia Center) held its 6th Annual Pi Gamma Mu induction ceremony via Zoom.  The chapter inducted 11 new members at the Virginia campus.

Dr. Michelle Boone-Thornton and Dr. Cheri Chambers served as the leads in organizing this event with collaboration from Dr. Amina Abdullah.  In addition, Dr. Tamika Lett and Dr. Charlene Cofield participated in co-hosting the ceremony. Information was shared about the programs to an audience of 30+ inductees, guests and alumni. There were students in attendance from the education centers in Chesapeake and Newport News VA, as well as Madison, FL.

The students and alumni provided meaningful testimonials about their experience at Saint Leo University.

Dr. Susan Kinsella is the Faculty Sponsor of the Chapter.  She is assisted in leading the chapter by faculty members located at Saint Leo University campuses in several states.

Below are screenshots of the ceremony and candle lighting:

Members of the Nebraska Delta Chapter at Wayne State College purchased materials and crafted homemade 'tie blankets' for donation.  Several blankets were given to the Multicultural Center on campus and subsequently presented to international students.  Other blankets were given to the Wayne Food Pantry, who are distributing winter wear to tribal members on the nearby Omaha Indian Reservation in northeast Nebraska.  Dr. Randy Bertolas and Dr. Lisa Nelson are the sponsors of the chapter.
