APPLY FOR A PI GAMMA MU LECTURESHIP AND CHAPTER EVENT GRANT

The Trustees of Pi Gamma Mu have established the Lectureship and Chapter Events Fund for the purpose of advancing the social sciences and researching and eliminating all forms of discrimination.  Funds may be used by chapters in the following two ways: 1) to bring a specially qualified speaker to campus for a chapter event, or 2) to help cover expenses related to a chapter hosting a scholarship based-event for students.  The Fund serves as a memorial to deceased Trustees of this honor society.   The Trustees encourage chapters to apply.

INTERNATIONAL SERVICE PROJECT

Please join other chapters in the Pi Gamma Mu Service Project!

Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences is proud to embrace Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within all international service projects. As an interdisciplinary social science honor society, students and professors are keenly aware of the myriad of social problems that exist in communities throughout the world, especially the unique problems facing our own individual communities. Considering diversity, equity, and inclusion, chapters interested in participating in this service project should choose an issue or project important to them in their unique social environment, campus setting, and community and create a service project around this initiative.

ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGE HONOR SOCIETIES

ACHS Pi Gamma Mu is one of 69 member societies of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS), which is the authority on standards and definitions for the honor society movement. ACHS has stepped up efforts to alert the higher education community to the standards of traditional honor societies. In contrast, some new so-called honor societies exist online and allow self-nomination, accepting fees with no questions asked. If in doubt about an organization, you can check out the ACHS Web site (www.achshonor.org) for the list of honor societies that are members.
